Working from home these days can be a bit laze. I will admit, even for myself it has been a challenge of getting into the habit of dressing up. I’ve been working remotely for three weeks now and I actually enjoy it. However I don’t like the idea of working in my pajamas or lounge wear. I don’t feel like I’m as motivated or productive as I need to be.

Just recently, I told myself that I would be more disciplined and do a better job of being more presentable. Although I may not be physically going into an office, I still want to feel like I am. One thing I’ve always enjoyed about going to work every morning was the feeling of getting ready for work and looking good. When I look good, I feel good.

This week I decided to implement and entertain the idea of actually getting dress to sit at my desk and work from my laptop. And guess what, I really enjoyed it!

Although most of us may be working from home, I believe it’s still good to feel like we have somewhere to go because it will be an easier transition back into the office once we start to experience some normalcy again.

But……since normalcy haven’t quite happened yet, I would recommend practicing the habit of getting dressed for work even if you’re just working from your home desk. I would start with something easy like wearing a nice blazer and mixing and matching it with different outfits every day. You can never go wrong with a blazer. To help you get some inspo and discover different ways to style a blazer. Check out my video below.

Hi I’m Shadana, a fashion influencer. I started this blog to continue my mission of helping women look and feel empowered through fashion. When I’m not creating content, I enjoy outdoor adventures and traveling to different countries to learn about other cultures. My favorite country to date is Japan where I fell in love with the Japanese street fashion in Ginza, the shopping district in Tokyo. If you love fashion as much as I do or want to get inspired, follow me on this journey.

  1. Great post. Your’re right about still dressing for the occasion; specifically work. Thank you for the inspiration. I will try to implement your suggestion.
