The film festival was filled with lots of West African natives mostly from Ghana and Nigeria. It took place in the late evening around 6:30 PM on October 24 at The Shrine of the Black Madonna, a community center in 3rd ward. The setting featured lots of culture, food, art, and great people coming together to watch a documentary and discuss the making, creation, and history of West African garments.
On October 20, 2018 Shaundra Webb a Houston native introduced her new eye wear Line known as Dinjii. I was invited as a VIP guest and I received all the juices. The night was filled with lots of fun, laughter, dessert, people, and of course sunglasses. The event included a red carpet, DJ, photographer, and a plethora of people who had come out to support the new line.
The Sundae Blogger Ice Cream Social was hosted by two members of the Houston African American Bloggers, also known as HAAB. The event took place at Baskin Robbins ice cream at 6401 Woodway Dr. Ste 115 in Houston, TX on Sunday October 7, 2018 from 3-5 PM.
It was a fun filled event with lots of games, door prizes, and of course networking. Accessory designer of Dinjii Eyewear showcased a new collection of sunshades. Her collection was pretty dope, all the bloggers had a chance to try on the shades for the first time. I was fortunate enough to win a pair, thanks to the designer who’s photographed alongside me below.
